What Subaru Has the Most Cargo Space?

Subaru Vehicles

Spacious and Capable

If there's one car model that can hold its own against luxury brands and still maintain practicality, it has to be the Subaru. For years, the Forester has been one of the best selling crossover SUVs in the American market. Subarus are affordable and very versatile. The SUVs are spacious and capable of carrying lots of luggage even with the last row seats still up. However, the question remains, which Subaru has the most cargo space?

How Subaru's Top SUVs Compare

This year, Subaru introduced the Ascent. It is the first time in 5 years that Subaru has introduced a third row SUV. The company stayed away from this market for a while after Tribeca sales failed to impress back in 2014. Since the 2019 Ascent is the only three row SUV in the company's line up, it's the largest Subaru SUV. The Ascent is 6.9 inches longer than the 2019 Outback, which was the biggest Subaru SUV last year.

The 2019 Ascent offers 47.5 cubic feet of space if you fold the third row seats. When you fold the second row seats, you increase that number to 86.5 cubic feet of space with additional under-floor storage.

The 2019 Subaru Outback offers 35.5 cubic feet of space without folding the second row seats. However, when you fold them, the total volume adds up to 73.3 cubic feet.

The 2019 Subaru Forester has 35.4 cubic feet of space with the second row seats up. However, the biggest surprise comes after you fold the second row seats. The total cargo space increases to an amazing 76.1 cubic feet of space. It somehow manages to beat the 2019 Outback.
