2017 subaru outback wins the Best Wagon for Families award

U.S. News & World Report recently named the 2017 Subaru Outback winner of the Best Wagon for Families award. In all, the national publication examined 211 vehicles and named winners of 18 categories.

Selected for its safety ratings, available tech features and spacious interior, the new Outback is a winner at every angle. The latest accolade marks the sixth year of winning such an award.

Now in its fifth-generation, the 2017 Outback gets a new trim: Touring. It sports unique 18-inch wheels, heated steering and upgraded leather upholstery – just some of the many standards. Other features worth mentioning include dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats and Bluetooth for easy connectivity.

Every model, except for the 3.6R Limited, employs a 2.5-liter BOXER engine, delivering 175 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. More power can be had on the 3.6R Limited, thanks to its peppy V6 engine that produces 256 horsepower. Power is sent to all four wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Safety-wise, the Outback comes with numerous high-quality airbags, antilock brakes, Brake Assist and Tire Pressure Monitoring. Advanced safety gear such as EyeSight Driver Assist and High Beam assist are optional on select trims.
