Subaru's incredibly popular 2014 BRZ model has been officially rated a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety. Another stunning achievement under Subaru's belt, the honor is one shared by three other cars in the automaker's lineup, including the Impreza, XV Crosstrek and WRX. In addition to this win, Subaru has three 2014 models that have earned Top Safety Pick+ awards: the 2014 Outback, Legacy and Forester. Each award speaks volumes of the brand's efforts toward safety and overall quality, cementing it as a strong competitor in the automotive industry.
The Subaru BRZ's induction into the Top Safety Pick club was made possible due to the sports coupe's exceptional performance in the IIHS' safety tests. It received an 'acceptable' rating in its first-ever small overlap test, and a 'good' rating in the side impact, roof crush, rear impact and front moderate overlap tests. Its ample helping of safety features, such as front side airbags, side curtain airbags, traction control, stability control and antilock brakes, also supported the 2014 BRZ in its journey to attain the Top Safety Pick award, proving the model is capable of protecting its passengers regardless of what comes its way.
