Everyone's favorite IFC comedy show, "Portlandia," is back for a fifth season and we're happy to announce that Subaru has once again signed on to sponsor the series. Since the first season, the brand has been a huge supporter of the show, which cracks jokes about stereotypical subcultures in Portland, Ore., and has quickly become a valued member of the "Portlandia" family.
In the beginning, Subaru's connection with "Portlandia" was only apparent through a few TV advertisements, but as time went on the automaker began sponsoring online videos and integrating their cars into select sketches. For the fifth season of the series, Subaru decided to become even more involved by sponsoring an online campaign for the show, "Come Along for the Ride to Season Five." Their cars will also be featured in three different sketches throughout the season's ten episodes, supporting the story while gaining exposure for the brand.
"We're always looking for different ways to reach people," said Brian Cavallucci, national advertising manager at Subaru of America in Cherry Hill, N.J. He also stated that it has become "a cool thing to be that much involved" with "Portlandia."
