The evolution of vehicle safety features is astounding when you look at cars developed over the past 30 years. Over time, technology has become more advanced and automakers have expanded their views on car safety, continuously working on new ways to ensure drivers and passengers remain secure while in the car at all times. Subaru, for one, has always been a brand dedicated to in-car safety; their latest technology program, EyeSight, takes vehicle safety to a whole new arena and assists drivers like never before, offering a second set of eyes on the road when they're needed most.
Consisting of two cameras outfitted on the top of the car's windshield, Subaru EyeSight scans the road for any potential hazardous situations and uses audible and visual alerts to inform drivers of the dangers. In scenarios where quick action is needed, the system can also trigger automatic braking to prevent an accident. The inclusion of six different driver-assist features make up the program's complete abilities, which include pre-collision braking system, pre-collision brake assist, pre-collision throttle management, adaptive cruise control, lane sway/departure warning and lead vehicle start alert. To get a full sense of each of their roles within the system, watch the entire video below for a quick overview.
Subaru Eyesight is available now in 2014 Outback, Legacy and Forester models at Reliable Subaru.
