Subaru is on a mission to carry out their recently unveiled "Prominence 2020" plan, and as a part of the fresh strategy, the respected automaker has decided to develop a new single platform that will be used on every model in their roster. A huge change for the brand, Subaru believes the use of one platform will help lower unnecessary costs, saving them a significant amount of money over time. The move is just one way the manufacturer is priming themselves for future success, but it's among their biggest modifications to their development process and its benefits could be a great win for the company.

With the introduction of the new single platform, which will arrive in 2016, Subaru has also made arrangements to debut innovative engine technology throughout their lineup that will improve each car's performance. A few of these components will include next-generation cylinder deactivation, direct injection and lean-burn technology, which will work to increase fuel economy. Additionally, Subaru has also revealed they will be releasing their first-ever plug-in hybrid model on the market in 2017 that will be sold in 13 states. This will be followed by the arrival of updated models featured in their current lineup, such as the Impreza, Forester and Outback, that will further set the tone for Subaru's future efforts and endeavors.
