The 2015 Subaru WRX STI blew past the competition in its Rally America National Championship debut, placing first in the challenging Sno*Drift Rally. Driven by Subaru Rally driver David Higgins, the all-new WRX proved to be a dominate force on the track, tackling the snow-packed ground with little complications and finishing the race with no mechanical issues. Built by Vermont SportsCar, the rally car serves as a great addition to the Subaru team’s roster.
Taking on the 120-mile Sno*Drift Rally, which was held in snowy Michigan, was no easy feat, but Higgins and his co-driver, Craig Drew, battled their way to the end. Icy, rigorous roads made the track exceptionally hard to conquer; however, they didn't stop Higgins and Drew from wining all 17 stages of the competition thanks to the incredible performance of the WRX STI. Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system outfitted on the WRX helped deliver the outstanding victory. In fact, the system assisted the Subaru team in capturing the top five podium positions, securing Subaru as the day's big winner.
The Sno*Drift Rally was just the beginning of the 2015 Subaru WRX STI's race season. There are many more races to come and Higgins has made it known that he's ready to take on each and every one!
