Mark your Calendars! On Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, Springfield’s downtown will be the place to be for the annual Christmas Parade. Now in its 51st year, the holiday extravaganza, which will start at 2 p.m., will once again feature a variety of festive floats, marching bands and, of course, Santa and Ms. Claus.

The parade starts at South Avenue and continues to Jordan Valley Park after making its way around Park Central Square. The fun continues with free horse-drawn carriage rides from 6-9 p.m. at Park Central Square. Keep in mind the event draws a lot of people, so you’ll want to arrive early to claim a good spot for your lawn chair, and remember to dress warm!

Shop Till You Drop

If you’re looking for that perfect gift for your mom, dad, baby, friend or coworker, then the city’s downtown has got you covered. With over a dozen stores, the area has plenty of shopping options. From fashion-forward clothing stores and bridal shops to an eclectic coffee house (Mudhouse Coffee) and various dining options, this vibrant venue has something for all to enjoy.

We hope you have a great day of shopping and Santa in Springfield!
