What's New for the 2020 Subaru Accent?

The Ascent was a brand new vehicle for Subaru in 2019. Since it is only in its second year of production, a few changes have been made for this well-received SUV. A Rear Seat Reminder will now be standard on all models. The only other change of note is the addition of a power rear gate lock function.

2020 Subaru Ascent Has Abundant Features

There are four different trim levels to choose from when it comes to the 2020 Subaru Ascent. They are known as the standard Ascent, Premium, Limited, and Touring. The entry-level Ascent has many cutting-edge features, including SUBARU STARLINK® Multimedia with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. All versions of the Ascent also have the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with X-MODE.

The Premium trim has the all-weather package, which adds heated seats to the vehicle. It gives consumers the option between a second-row bench or two captain chairs. It has 4G LTE Wi-Fi capability and a rear climate control panel. The Limited trim will give you leather-trimmed upholstery, keyless access featuring push-button start, and rides on 20" alloy wheels.

At the top of the Ascent line, drivers will get a panoramic power moonroof alongside a 180-degree Front-View Monitor in the Touring trim. This stylish SUV has exclusive Java Brown leather-trimmed upholstery and comes standard second-row captain's chairs. A Harman Kardon premium audio system featuring a whopping 14 speakers. Navigation rounds out the features that are added by the Touring.

How Well does the 2020 Subaru Ascent Perform?

2020 Subaru AccentThere is only one powertrain available in the new Ascent. It is a powerful and impressive 2.4-liter DOHC turbocharged engine. It produces 260-horsepower as well as 277 lb-ft of torque. As for the transmission, drivers get a Lineartronic CVT. While the standard model of the Ascent can tow up to 2,000 pounds, all other versions can go up to 5,000 pounds. Because of the power that this vehicle packs, you won't find a situation where the Ascent cant perform. This is truly a vehicle for any occasion.


Packed with Safety Features

2020 Subaru AccentOne of the best things about the new Ascent is how much-advanced safety tech comes standard. Each and every model is equipped with EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. This package adds Lane Departure with Sway Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Pre-Collision Braking. All versions also have Brake Assist, daytime running lights, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

Moving up to the Premium trim nets drivers Blind-Spot Detection featuring Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. The Limited and Touring editions give you Reverse Automatic Braking as well as High Beam Assist.
