Get ready to run, Springfield, because the Color Foam 5K is coming to town on Saturday, June 28, and we're encouraging everyone to come out and participate in this fun event! Nothing like your typical 5K, the Color Foam run is an untimed race that promotes wellness, where runners make their way through colored foam and get doused in colored water cannons as they sprint ahead toward the finish line. A perfect event for the entire family, the Color Foam 5K draws thousands of participants of all different ages and is now featured in six cities, expanding its reach while leaving a dash of color across the nation!
Convinced the Color Foam 5K is right up your alley? You can register online now individually or as a part of a team for $46. Kids under seven get in free and part of the proceeds for the race will go to Springfield Make a Wish Foundation. The official start time for the 5K is 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, at 735 E. Saint Louis St. Arrive early and bring a towel with you to wipe the foam as well as pair of shades to protect your eyes. All foam and color is 100-percent eco-friendly and washes off easily, so don't worry about the cleanup and have a good time!
