What's New For The 2019 Subaru Forester?

The Subaru Forester will have a new design for the 2019 model year. For the new year, Subaru will be using the Subaru Global Platform as well underpinning other models such as the Ascent, the Crosstrek and the Impreza. The all new Forester will have more passenger and cargo room as well as a more powerful engine. It will also have a new Sport model and the Eyesight package. With the new Forester, consumers will also be able to take advantage of a standard driver assist feature as well.

2019 Subaru Forester Trims and Configurations

The Subaru Forester comes in a base model trim that includes the standard EyeSight package of the driver assist technology. With a base model Forester, you will also get a SI-Drive which comes in the Intelligent and Sport modes, automatic LED headlights and an automatic start/stop. A base model Forester also comes with automatic climate control, a rearview camera and an infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Siriusxm Satellite Radio and two USB ports in the vehicle.

    A Subaru Forester Premium trim offers 17" inch alloy wheels, an X Mode off road mode with hill descent control and a panoramic moonroof. There are also roof rails, a rear spoiler, a leather wrapped steering wheel and reclining rear seats. The vehicle also includes other features such as a 10 way power driver's seat and Starlink Safety and Security.

The Subaru Forester Sport trim offers 18 inch black alloy wheels, a dual function X mode, SI Drive and LED fog lights. You will also be able to get roof rails with integrated tie downs, dark gray upholstery and interior orange stitching. It also comes with a 6.3 inch multifunction display on the dashboard, two USB ports and a quick entry system that includes push button ignition.

With a Limited trim, consumers will be able to take advantage of features such as leather trimmed upholstery, steering responsive LED headlights that include high beam assist and chrome grill accents. It will have dual zone automatic climate control, blind spot monitoring, lane change assist and also an 8 inch infotainment touchscreen.

The Subaru Forester Touring is the highest trim level of the vehicle. This particular vehicle is the most equipped of all the trim levels and includes 18 inch alloy wheels. There are roof rails with silver accents, mirror caps, chrome door handles and an eight way passenger seat. The vehicle also offers a heated steering wheel, satellite radio from SiriusXM, a nine speaker audio system, driver monitoring and reverse automatic braking. There is also leather upholstery available as well.

A Powerful Engine Built to Conquer

In previous models, the Forester had a turbo four cylinder engine but it has now been discontinued. Now the 2019 Forester is powered by one single powertrain. This vehicle has 182 horsepower and 176 pounds feet of torque, a 2.5 liter F-4 engine and a CVT transmission. Its outgoing engine comes with 170 horsepower and 174 pounds feet of torque. Just like all of the other Subaru models, the Forester comes with all wheel drive.

Safety Features
