Spanning more than 1,500 miles of rugged desert terrain, the Rebelle Rally pushes both drivers and their machines to their absolute limits. This year, Subaru entered Team 200 behind the wheel of a specially modified Subaru Forester Hybrid. Piloting the 2025 Forester Hybrid, the crew powered their way to an impressive victory, marking another major milestone for the automaker.
What is the Rebelle Rally?
The Rebelle Rally stands out as a truly distinctive competition. Recognized as the nation's longest off-road endurance rally, it is open exclusively to women. Held in October 2026, the demanding route stretches across Nevada and California, traversing unforgiving desert landscapes. Rather than emphasizing pure speed, the rally tests vehicle capability alongside driver strategy, requiring competitors to reach checkpoints using only physical maps, compasses, and precise driving maneuvers. Competitors endure intense 10-to-12-hour days behind the wheel, contending with harsh terrain and navigation trials. Each rally also features a grueling marathon stage—an overnight leg where teams must camp in the field without returning to base camp.
About Subaru's Team 200
For this year's competition, Subaru is fielding the proven pair that captured first place in the X-Cross class in the previous rally. Composed of Carey Lando and Andrea Shaffer, Team 200 enters the 2026 event behind the wheel of a custom-liveried Forester Hybrid engineered specifically for desert challenges. Having earned consecutive victories in the 2024 and 2025 Rebelle Rally events, the pair enters the contest with strong momentum. Beyond the Rebelle Rally, Lando and Shaffer have also competed together in the Trinite Road Rally. In addition to their racing experience, the duo attributes their consistent success to good sportsmanship, mutual support, and the reliability of a capable vehicle.
About the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid
The 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid serves as Team 200's vehicle of choice for the Rebelle Rally. Much like last year, their competition crossover received purposeful upgrades to conquer the demanding desert conditions. Key enhancements on this modified Forester Hybrid include a three-inch suspension lift, 30-inch Milestar Patagonia Pro tires, heavy-duty underbody protection, dedicated recovery gear, auxiliary off-road lighting, and custom graphics.
