What's New for the 2022 Subaru Outback?
For more than two decades, the Subaru Outback has been a top choice on the market. The Outback has moved to the class of midsize SUVs following its beginnings as a durable wagon. The Subaru Outback is no less hardy this time around. It has an even more adventurous spirit in the 2022 model year, including a new and more capable trim called the Subaru Outback Wilderness Edition. Thanks to the new trim level, the Subaru Outback is now equipped with more off-road features than ever before. You can also now get a turbo engine that delivers more power for your Outback. Another new and notable feature for the Outback is an increase to 9.5 inches of ground clearance, up from 8.7 inches of ground clearance before, which is especially impressive considering that the Outback led its class in ground clearance in 2021.

You'll get 8.7 inches of ground clearance to start with on the base trim level, and the exterior is equipped with raised roof rails that include integrated crossbars. The Outback Premium, the next trim level in the lineup, has Subaru's Starlink safety and security system. It gets a larger infotainment display as well with an 11.6-inch inch screen. The driver's seat is multi-way adjustable, and a standard All-Weather Package includes heated front seats. LED fog lights are also standard. The Outback Limited, the third trim, gets leather seats and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. The Touring gets a power moonroof and Nappa leather upholstery. The Onyx Edition has water-resistant seating material, black alloy wheels, and keyless entry. The new Outback Wilderness Edition trim has unique bumpers, a raised suspension, and black wheels.
