2022 Subaru WRX

What's New for the 2022 Subaru WRX?

The Subaru WRX gets comprehensive changes in 2022. This year, the WRX comes with updates to the cabin, the exterior, and its mechanical system. On the outside, you will notice that the 2022 Subaru WRX has refreshed styling with a new look from front to back. This year, the exterior has a more sculpted and contemporary look that includes new headlights and a new platform. The WRX has some trim-specific differences as well, including an increasing volume of LED lights as you move up in trim level. The cabin of the 2022 Subaru WRX is upgraded with a new and larger infotainment system. The driver's information system also has a new screen design with updated graphics. There's more room in the cabin as well, following the redesign and the changeover to a new platform for the 2022 WRX.

2022 WRX Trims & Features

There is much to enjoy with the 2022 Subaru WRX, from the base trim to the top trim level. The Subaru WRX comes in five trims. The first is the base trim. Next, we have the Premium trim, followed by the Limited, newly available GT, then STI, with more information yet to follow for the STI. The 2022 WRX drives its sharp handling even more with a retuned suspension. Because of the upgraded dampers and a stiffer chassis, performance in cornering, steering balance, and stability all feel better than ever. The new GT trim handles very smoothly because of the electronically adjustable dampers, allowing driver-controlled damping changes at the touch of a button.

2022 Subaru WRX Horsepower

The 2022 Subaru WRX features the latest version of Subaru's 2.4-liter direct-injection turbocharged BOXER engine. The BOXER engine produces an impressive 271 horsepower and features a twin-scroll turbocharger with an electronic wastegate. These features allow the engine to have a near-instant boost response and 258 pound-feet of torque. All-new automatic fingertip paddle shifting and an 8-speed manual mode will be seen for 2022. This can deliver 30% faster upshifts and 50% faster downshifts with more aggressive shift logic. The standard 6-speed manual transmission isn't going anywhere for those desiring total control over performance.
