Water Color U.S.A. is a unique juried exhibition that has been held annually at the Springfield art Museum since 1962. The competition is open solely to artists within the U.S. who perform watermedia painting. During the exhibition, each art submission is judged and prizes are awarded to the top selections. In years past, the museum has bought some of the artwork displayed during the exhibit and has handed out a cash grand prize totaled at $3,000. Additional prizes are given out throughout the competition to artists whose work represents the best in contemporary American watermedia.
