Subaru and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Partnership
Subaru has earned its reputation as a leading global automaker by delivering vehicles that are sporty, dependable, affordable, and built for adventure. But beyond its lineup of popular cars, Subaru is also committed to making a difference in the fight against cancer. For more than a decade, Subaru has proudly partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to fund cancer research, offer support to patients and their families, and spread hope. This year marks the 10th anniversary of this meaningful collaboration.
Through its “Subaru Loves to Care” initiative, Subaru works closely with LLS to provide comfort and assistance to nearly 500,000 blood cancer patients across the country. Subaru holds the distinction of being the largest automotive donor to LLS, making it an essential ally in the organization’s mission. This partnership is especially focused on children battling blood cancer and the families who support them. According to Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Subaru of America, Inc., the company has prioritized compassion and connection throughout the past decade. Subaru demonstrates this commitment by delivering handwritten notes and warm blankets to pediatric cancer patients in hospitals nationwide. More than 600 Subaru retailers across the U.S. participate in the effort, and the company also offers financial support to families for everyday expenses like groceries and transportation.
LLS deeply values the decade-long relationship it shares with Subaru. E. Anders Kolb, M.D., President and CEO of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, emphasizes how much the thoughtful gestures—like care kits and encouraging messages—mean to patients undergoing treatment, especially children. Together, Subaru and LLS have brought comfort, compassion, and a strong sense of support to countless lives, reminding patients that they are never alone.
