The 2016 Subaru WRX and STI will be landing on the market in just a few short months, and when they hit Springfield, they'll arrive with a few new tech offerings and a couple fresh safety features. For the new model year, Subaru decided to give the recently refreshed WRX and STI several new components to complement last year's changes. The latest additions enhance safety on both vehicles and give drivers access to high-tech equipment they'll find beneficial.

The Springfield Art Museum's annual juried exhibition celebrating watermedia painting, Watercolor U.S.A., is scheduled to run this year from June 6 through August 23. Nationally recognized, the showcase draws in hundreds of artists from throughout the country each year interested in displaying their aqueous media paintings in the competitive exhibition. Flocks of seasoned art enthusiasts travel to Springfield annually to view Watercolor U.S.A. and admire all of the submissions.

The Subaru BRZ is currently on the path to receiving an STI Edition, which is likely to arrive within the next two years. The Subaru BRZ STI Performance concept that debuted at the 2015 New York Auto Show was a first look at design and styling the automaker may apply to a production version of the high-end model. A fan favorite among Subaru enthusiasts, the BRZ will be a perfect addition to the STI lineup.

Subaru's love of the boxer engine is one that has spanned over 49 years. The Japanese automaker has become closely linked to the uniquely designed engine and currently uses it in each one of its passenger cars on the market today. As of recently, Subaru reached a milestone with the boxer engine, with their parent company Fuji Heavy Industries producing the 15-millionth one to date.

The 2015 Subaru WRX STI blew past the competition in its Rally America National Championship debut, placing first in the challenging Sno*Drift Rally. Driven by Subaru Rally driver David Higgins, the all-new WRX proved to be a dominate force on the track, tackling the snow-packed ground with little complications and finishing the race with no mechanical issues. Built by Vermont SportsCar, the rally car serves as a great addition to the Subaru team’s roster.

Country music legend Merle Haggard is set to take the stage for the first time in over 40 years at the O'Reilly Family Event Center in Springfield on Feb. 24, 2015. A one-night-only event, Haggard will be joined by country crooner Marty Stuart who rose to fame in the '90s with his solo career. Known as a pioneer of the country music scene, Haggard is a proud member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. He is a legend in the community and a brilliant performer that holds a special place in country music's history.
